Call for applications
Deadline March 30th, 2025
The Standing Group of International Relations (SGRI) of the Italian Political Science Association has organized an International Studies PhD Workshop at the University of Milan thanks to the support of the Evidence-Based Policy Research and Action (EPRA-Hub) on June 11, 2025.
The workshop will bring together PhD students from across Italy and Europe, offering a unique platform to present their research and receive constructive feedback and guidance from early career and senior scholars in their respective fields.
ELIGIBILITY AND APPLICATION
The workshop is open to PhD candidates working on or completing their dissertation proposals, thesis chapters, or other scientific work such as book chapters and journal articles.
Up to 24 PhD students will be selected for the workshop. The selection process will ensure scientific pluralism and inclusiveness. Results will be communicated via email by April 30, 2025.
PhD students who participated in the 2024 PhD Workshop are also eligible to apply; however, in the case of equally ranked applications, priority will be given to those who did not attend the previous edition.
Perspective participants should apply by filling out this online form by March 30, 2025.
WORKSHOP FORMAT
Participants will deliver short presentations on their research topics, followed by detailed feedback from senior scholars and a Q&A session with peers in structured, ninety-minute sessions. This format offers PhD students an outstanding opportunity to refine their research, gain valuable insights, and engage in scholarly discussion.
Participants will also have the opportunity to attend a session on publishing academic books with Domenic Byatt (Oxford University Press).
FREE PARTICIPATION AND BENEFITS
Accepted participants will be granted free access to the workshop, including lunch. Additionally, they will be granted free access to the SGRI Conference at the Catholic University of Milan on June 12-13, 2025.
